December Delights

Hello subscriber,

All the excitements of Christmas and New Year are well behind us now, but there are new things to look forward to at the Tally in the coming weeks:

Singing at the Tally

Like singing? All are welcome on the first Sunday evening of every month to come along and sing, helped along the way by Hugh Edwards, who many of you will remember from Berry Pomeroy School. Once we get started, choice of songs can be by popular request and/or in consultation with Hugh. Jill Todd’s starting us off with a request for mostly folk and rock songs.

This is a new venture, so all ideas are welcome. No experience or singing ability necessary – just enthusiasm needed! The very first session will be next Sunday, 1st February starting at 8pm - put it in your diary now!

Games Night

Have a merry time at the pub games night on Wednesday, 11th February. Everybody is most welcome and it’s a great way to meet people. Come at 7pm if you’d like to have supper. Games start at 8pm. To find us, just follow the laughter.

Games Night was started by Littlehempston villagers before the Tally closed in 2011, to try to create more business on a quieter evening to help keep the pub going. Games Night has been running ever since (with breaks over the summers) - at the Pig & Whistle whilst the Tally was closed, and now alternating between the Tally and the Pig since the Tally re-opened.

Why not come and give it a try?

Littlehempston Community Space Annual Meeting

Do you enjoy the events and activities in Littlehempston’s Community Space? Then come along to the Annual Meeting on Wednesday, 28th January, 6.30pm at the Tally Ho, and help celebrate what’s been achieved and plan good things to come for 2015. And don’t worry – you won’t be press ganged into anything. Just provide your support and ideas, whilst enjoying delicious nibbles. Don’t forget – this highly enjoyable community effort helps keep the Church and Space open for all. If you’d like a copy of the Annual report before the meeting, phone Ali Taylor on 01803 865058.

After the meeting, why not stay and have a meal? The meeting will be taking over one end of the bar, so we can stay on and all eat together. Just let the Tally know so they know how many to expect!

Rally Round the Tally Again!

Our pub needs some spring attention - mostly painting but there are also a few mending and cleaning jobs to be done. We’re going to get together on three consecutive Mondays starting Monday, 9th February from 10am, and continuing on the 16th and 23rd February.

So if you’d like to join in, please do come wearing suitable clothing and bring a picnic lunch to share. You’ll be warmly welcomed!

Contact Anna Ash 01803 847899 for more details, or just to let her know you're coming.

Cheers,
