Tally Ho, Littlehempston's Community Pub - new logo

Latest news

Hello subscriber,

Sorry it's been a little while since we last sent you an e-mail newsletter, but life's been very busy at the Tally Ho. The Grand Opening was a great success with the bar packed solid - presumably because many of you were there! Read more about it by clicking here. Weekly takings continue to run well ahead of our forecasts, recruitment of staff to support Hollie and Chris is progressing well, and shares are selling too (although there are still plenty left - keep an eye on the Pub-o-Meter on our Share Offer pages).

The Tally on telly

Many of you will know that BBC Spotlight came to the very first night that we were open - Thursday 27th March (for members only). That piece was finally transmitted a month later on 28th April. If you missed it, it's available on our website's Press Cuttings page.

Bottle re-cycling

Many of you will have noticed that several of our house wines are supplied in attractive flip-top bottles. It seems a pity to throw them away, but we are producing empty ones quite quickly! So if you're into home brewing, wine, cider or cordial making, and you fancy one or more of these, just pop into the Tally and ask over the bar. Try Googling "flip top bottle" to see what they're worth...

The Tally on the web

The Tally's got a very strong presence on Facebook and Twitter (click on the links to see). And we've now got an entry on TripAdvisor after a customer posted a review. Unfortunately it could be better, so if you've enjoyed a visit to the Tally, please add your own review  (search for restaurants in Littlehempston).

My favorite Pub in England

We’ve had a great message from Fanie De Villiers, retired South African test cricketer:

“I am proud of you guys. Your pub is my favorite Pub in England.

I use to play cricket for Torq and visited the Pub with many friends and Fam over the last 25 years. Even brought the SA Test squad there in 94 when we played England.

Regards and good wishes from South Africa”

LCPL committee member Kathryn Hill remembers Fanie well when he played for Torquay, as at that time both her brother-in-law and cousin played for them too.

It’s a small world !

Cheers,

Littlehempston Community Pub Ltd.
