Now it's November

Hello subscriber,

Lots more Tally Ho news this month!

We've been busy wine tasting… a tough job but someone has to do it!

So after all the ‘hard work’ we’re delighted to introduce a new wine list here at the Tally Ho featuring some old favourites and some interesting new additions. One of our new favourites is the Rioja Blanco from the Bodegas Taron vineyard. It’s a fantastic medium dry white with clear notes of melon, pear drops and citrus, definitely worth heading here to try. We still stock Duc de Chapelle Sauvignon Blanc and of course the Roche de Belanne Carignan. Both have been, and still are, firmly among the favourites we have on offer.

The new wine list will be available from 7th November when you'll be able to see it on our website. All our wines will now be available by the glass in 125ml, 175ml or 250ml.

With every updated wine list come the ‘bin ends’ and we are offering excellent deals on these. All our old stock needs to go, so bottles are up for sale from only £10 each.

Beers and Ciders

Birra Moretti (4.6% abv) has replaced Heineken on the keg taps, and after a successful trial, scrumpy is now available permanently on a hand pull pump.

Christmas raffle

Tickets are available now - £1 a square with the draw taking place on Saturday 23rd December.

Wednesday is now officially Volunteer Night! Nine supporters came along to the first Wednesday get together with some getting training behind the bar with Ian, while others were shown the ropes of waiting on tables by Ali Batten. It finished up with a very sociable drink. Most people then offered to help out on a Wednesday once a month (6 to 9pm) and also be on the list for occasional relief work, when staff were sick or when bookings were very heavy. Don't worry - this is not a staff-cutting exercise, but a chance to give our hard-working team a day off. Full professional back-up is given by Kim and Ian plus Steve the chef. Helping at the Tally is good fun and a great way of getting to know people and learning new skills. If you fancy giving it a try, come along on any Wednesday or else give Ian a ring to find out more.

The Rural Oscars 2017
