Springing into April ... again

Hello subscriber,

The Tally Ho's been open again for over two years now - where does the time go? An early Easter meant the Tally was very busy towards the end of March, helped by Ali Batten's second Quiz Night on Easter Sunday which built on the success of the February launch. Here's what we've got to look forward to over the next few weeks:

Dates for your diary

Sunday 17th April: Quiz Night! is moving to the 3rd Sunday of the month from now onwards. The quiz starts at 8pm, teams of up to 6 people, £1 a head entry, winning team takes the pot. Buffet supper available at 7.30pm at £6 per person.

Saturday 23rd April is St George's Day so look out for a proper English specials board!

Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th April: Steam train The Great Britain IX goes past the Tally. The first steam train of the year should be very spectacular as it will be double headed (it'll have two engines) - particularly on the Wednesday as it sets off back up the infamous Dainton bank. More accurate times should become available a week or so ahead, and will be posted on our website.

Sunday 1st May is the first Sunday of the month so as usual we'll be Singing for Fun from 8pm - everyone welcome!

Monday 2nd May is a bank holiday - so the Tally will be open!

Tally sparks 50 years of romance!

Richard Foord posted a lovely review of the Tally Ho on TripAdvisor, telling us how he and his wife Anita first met there in 1964. They just had to come back to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary! You can read the full story in Richard's words, and look at the pictures, in this website news item.

Job Vacancies

We've made good progress recruiting a new Management Couple, and are now in the final stages - following up references etc. If everything goes to plan, there'll be new faces in the Tally Ho at the beginning of May. More details soon...

And a Vacancies item has been added to the main menu of our website to help advertise other opportunities as they come up.
