Sunny September - fingers crossed

Hello subscriber,

After a rather wet August, let’s hope the weather improves and September brings some sunshine and opportunities to enjoy a pint in the beer garden.

Thank You!

The Beer Fest in August was a great success and enjoyed by all - see the photos on our website's Pictures page and Facebook.

A lot of hard work goes into this annual event and, as well as Committee members, Andrew and Martin, we must thank all the volunteers - Adrian, Pym, Matt, Sally, Richard, Nigel, Lawrence, Robina, Timmy, Jason, Jay, Rod, Sacha and John - plus Riverford and suppliers who donated raffle prizes.

By way of thanks to the church who allowed us to use their car park and in appreciation and recognition of the people in the village who might have been inconvenienced by noise or any other disruption caused, we're pleased to announce that a £100 donation was made to the church.

Dates for Your Diary

Sunday 6 September: 8pm Singing for Fun
Saturday 26 September: 7pm Auction of Promises to be held in the church, including an Aston Martin ride donated by Andrew.
Sunday 4 October: 8pm Singing for Fun
Saturday 31 October: Halloween party with a spooky-themed specials board, witches’ brew, fancy dress and music. Food service will be as normal, with the party starting at 9pm.

Steam Trains

For the enthusiasts among you, the next date - and the last chance for this year - to spot a steam train is Sunday 6 September. The Royal Duchy should pass the Tally at about 12.10pm on its way to Par, and then pass again at about 7.35pm on its way back to Bristol.
