August means Beer Festival

Hello subscriber,

Steam Trains and Singing for Fun

After a series of cancellations we should finally be getting another steam train past the Tally Ho on Sunday 2nd August. The Royal Duchy should pass the Tally at about 12.10pm on its way to Par in Cornwall, and return at about 7.35pm - just before Singing for Fun starts at 8pm that same evening.

Beer Fest & BBQ

The following weekend, 8th and 9th August, it's time for this year's Beer Fest & BBQ. There'll be a great selection of local ales and ciders, live music including jazz on the Sunday, a barbeque, raffle, etc. More details on our website.

Tally Ho is one of Devon Life editor's top 20 places to eat

The Summer 2015 edition of Devon Life has a heavy focus on food and drink. In one of the articles, editor Andy Cooper picks his top 20 spots for dining in Devon, and the Tally Ho is one of them! You can read his kind words on our website.

The same edition launches the Devon Life 2015 Food and Drink Awards. There are 16 categories – the Tally Ho can’t win them all, but how about voting for the Tally as Best Newcomer Of The Year, Best Devon Sunday Roast, Best Family Friendly Dining Experience Of The Year, Best Restaurant/Dining Experience Of The Year, Best Gastro Pub Of The Year or Best Chef Of The Year? If you want to vote for the Tally in any or all of those categories, just click on the red link above – voting closes on Sunday 23rd August.

Community Pubs Minister Marcus Jones MP visits the Tally Ho

Marcus Jones MP, Community Pubs Minister at the Department for Communities and Local Government, visited the Tally Ho on Monday 27th July and met Littlehempston Community Pub Limited management committee members Ali Batten, Andrew Mogford, Martin Stentiford and Mike Thomas. Jeremy Christophers, the leader of Teignbridge District Council was with Marcus Jones, and our local MP Sarah Wollaston came along too.

Mr Jones wants to promote the community pub model across the country, so was keen to find out how we'd succeeded in buying and re-opening the Tally. Read more, see a photo and listen to Marcus Jones on Heart Radio in this website news item.

Cheers,

Littlehempston Community Pub Ltd.
