Ever wondered how we are able to burst into song? Whether you’re a skylark or a happy listener, a rare treat awaits you on this Sunday afternoon with Anneke Freeland.
Anneke will first talk on the singing voice and its possible physiological and psychological effects. Then follows a short recital with music by Pergolesi, Cherubuni, Mahler, Berlioz and Bridge. Not forgetting three Dutch songs, which once upon a time were sung in every school in The Netherlands. A treat for the younger ones! To finish, there’s an improvisation for voice without words.
Those of us who attended Anneke’s Autumn Leaves concert look forward to hearing once again how beautifully her voice and the lovely church acoustics complement each other. And happily Margaret Clark returns to accompany Anneke on the keyboard.
Tickets are £7 per person on the door, (£3 for children), and there are refreshments and delicious cakes. Phone Ali Taylor on 01803 865058 to reserve tickets. One not to be missed!
This event will actually take place in the Community Space – St John’s Church which has been cleverly adapted so that it can be used for much more than just Church services. The Community Space is just along the road from the Tally Ho.
Perhaps you’d like to drop into the Tally Ho before or after Finding Your Voice ?
